About Milena

Milena Vásquez is a biophilic visual artist based in Moh'kinsstis - Calgary, Alberta. Milena was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia and immigrated to Canada in 2003; she lives with her husband and two teenage kids. Milena explores her emotions and the natural world through photography and mixed media. Her art manifests her love for nature, her childhood memories, and her botanical heritage. Milena's artistic journey has been profoundly shaped by her father, the late Roberto Vásquez, a renowned Bolivian botanist and orchid authority. Milena's art pieces reflect melancholy, longing, and the need to manifest her identity in a new Land. Milena finds inspiration, community and healing in nature; she spends her days collaborating with people, creating and exploring the outdoors.

We want to cultivate a welcoming front-facing space as a hub for creativity and artistic expression. We believe in the transformative power of art to foster wellness. This space isn't just about displaying our work; it's an invitation for others to experience and learn about how creativity positively influences life. We are passionate about demonstrating that art is a personal outlet and a powerful tool for enhancing well-being and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who experience it.
